20th Annual Mathematics Contest

Results of this year’s contest

General information:
Why: For students to gain experience through competition; To provide additional motivation to improve their math skills

When: Saturday, May 7nd, 2016 at 6:00 pm. 
Where: 3rd floor, 987 rue Coté, Montreal – near metro Place d’Armes
Grades: Elementary 2 – Secondary 5
Procedure: There are five levels: Beginner I (grade 2-3), Beginner II (grade 4-5), Intermediate (grade 6-7), Intermediate II (grade 8-9) and Advanced (grade 10-11). All groups write the contest simultaneously. Students must bring their own pencils and scrap paper. Only students from grade 8 to grade 11 may bring and use a calculator. The competition lasts 1.5 hours. If two students receive the same score, the student in the lower grade will rank higher. If both students are in the same grade, then the younger student will rank higher.

Our Objectives

The Quebec Foundation for Academic Achievement (QFAA), founded in May 1997, is a federal and provincial registered non-profit organization the objectives of which are to promote individual and group academic achievement through various academic institutions and scholastic endeavors. These objectives will be reached through the following:

1. public selection to promote individual or group academic or learning achievement.
2. public examinations or tests to raise students’ academic level and interest in learning.
